SILVER, GOLD & SONGSMITH
Certified GIA Graduate Jeweler, Jazz Infused Pop Singer Songwriter
Over her over twenty-five years as a professional jeweler, silver and goldsmith, West-Coast artist and designer Christie Grace has drawn inspiration from Bowen Island’s beautiful and mystical surround for her thousands of original creations. For thirteen years Christie worked and created out of her studio, “Silver, Gold & Songsmith” at Artisan Square on Bowen Island. This was where her stunning art designs first began attracting international attention. Designs that are now in private collections, in galleries, and online @ www.christiegrace.com
Christie graduated with honors from The Gemological Institute of America, in Los Angeles and then studied with Master Goldsmith, Alois Reithmann, at The Taos Institute of Arts in New Mexico, and at The Jewelry Arts Institute in NY, NY. She currently mentors with Vancouver master goldsmith Maryann Buis of Costen Catbalue.
Christie is also a professional jazz recording artist and her unique combination of these two art forms was the inspiration for, “Jazz N Jewels” featured on ET Canada and The Travel Guys.
“Jewelry design is an ancient, symbolic and deeply meaningful art form that also has to be functional for longevity. Structure, balance and the beauty that shines forth from the wearer are always in play. My designs are an alchemy of all these elements.” CG
